October News

I had a lovely & fully relaxing trip to the Northwest (Orcas Island & Port Townsend) camping on my husband's handcrafted schooner for part of the time. I met a lovely lady on Orcas who gave me a bouquet of flowers for no other reason but to be kind :) Earlier that day I gave a lady a quarter because she didn't have enough to buy what she came into the store for. Kind deeds, especially from strangers, are acts that make us all feel united. When we are kind to each other it is hard to be angry or sad.

The late summer harvest was plentiful & beautiful. I love the NW for its beautiful seasonal flowers. Lilacs in the spring, Peonies in early summer, Dahlias in the fall. If you plan to visit the area you must eat at my favorite places - Hanazano & Reveille. I am looking forward to my next trip already.

Back to Robin's where October tends to be a month that's full of harvest activities & we have lots so I encourage you to scroll to the very end of this newsletter to get all the news. But first I want to acknowledge Ricardo Guiterrez for his 12 years at Robin's as our lead dinner line cook. Rico has been a steady & stable force as lead line. Rico was accommodating & calm in a job that can be ever so stressful. We will miss him and wish him much success in the next chapter of his career. Thank You Rico!!!
